Nordatlantens Brygge
GRAPHIC DESIGN · ILLUSTRATION· BRANDING· STUDY ABROAD
Nordatlantens Brygge is a Danish culture house representing Greenland, Iceland, and the Faroe Islands. During a study abroad in Copenhagen, I was tasked to rebrand the culture house. I had to answer: how can a culture house representing four distinct nations create a unifying brand identity while expanding their audience to a new demographic? With these questions in mind, I leaned into the tourism aspect of the culture house, branding it as "The Gateway" to the Danish territories.

IDEATION
Original Identity
The culture house was currently used as an event space, micro-museum, and offices. This caused a lack of a specific identity, offering intros to each of the Danish territories without any specific agenda. A majority of their audience was elderly, and they struggled to bring in new faces.
OUTCOME
The Story
Nordatlantens Brygge is The Gateway to the Danish Territories. It is your first step into exploring new lands, a hub for a taste of what your journey could contain. The culture house is both the coming together of the four unique territories and your compass into exploring them.
The Marketing
Posters depicting landscapes from Iceland, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands are juxtaposed with a child looking into them. Nordatlantens Brygge is the first step into your own adventure into these territories.
The Logomark
The redesigned logomark represents the coming together of the four nations while also signifying a North Star, the guiding light of your journey.
The Experience
Visitors at Nordatlantens Brygge are now welcomed with photography depicting the Danish territories housed in the space. Using their smartphones, they can scan QR codes placed next to each piece, adding them to a travel itinerary they can embark upon.
The Journey
Click through the story to follow the journey of a young boy as he witnesses the guiding light of the culture house. The journey taken by the boy metaphorically represents that of a visitor to the culture house.
